Created For Purpose

Life is not mean—it is grand. If it is mean to any, he makes it so. God made it glorious. Its channel He paved with diamonds. Its banks He fringed with flowers. He overarched it with stars. Around it He spread the glory of the physical universe— suns, moons, worlds, constellations, systems—all that is magnificent in motion, sublime in magnitude, and grand in order and obedience. God would not have attended life with this broad march of grandeur, if it did not mean something. He would not have descended to the blade of grass, the dew-drop, and the dust-atom, if every moment of life were not a letter to spell out some word that should bear the burden of a thought. How much life means, words refuse to tell, because they cannot.

The very doorway of life is hung around with flowery emblems, to indicate that it is for some purpose. The mystery of our being, the necessity of action, the relation of cause to effect, the dependence of one thing upon another, the mutual influence and affinity of all things, assure us that life is for a purpose to which every outward thing doth point.

Christian Living - Overcoming old patterns and the issue of behavior modification

I hope you enjoy this new post. I shot this next to a lake in Littleton, CO in the heat of the day. I am challenging myself to do one of these each week if not more.  I believe this topic to be very important to many who struggle in their walk with God. All to often we come into a relationship with God with many wrong concepts that stop us from understanding his heart for us.

Law and Grace

What I learned growing up that it was all about the law! As you read through the Bible it is interesting because in the Old Testament it really was about the law. The law was very hard and harsh, no one could ever live up to it or master it. The law gave you a list of rules and regulations that you were to live up to. You were told to do this or do that in order to be blessed. The sad thing was that if you failed in any part of the law you were guilty of all! The law was so harsh that it told parents of rebellious children that they were to be stoned!  The sad thing is that that was the way they understood God at that time. It’s interesting to note that when the God delivered them from Egypt and set them free through the leadership of Moses that they were brought out of slavery into freedom, not from slavery to more slavery! As you study the story of Israel, it was they themselves that cried out to be told what to do. Freedom can be a scary thing when you have lived as a slave for 400 years. We read in Exodus that they answered Moses “whatever you say we will do” and in doing so, stepped out of a previous covenant God had with Abraham into what we now know as the Mosaic covenant.

Lesson #35 - What Is A Grace Empowered Life?

Grace empowered living relies on the overwhelming gift of God’s righteousness in our lives. The scripture tells us to not be “comformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.” (Romans 12:2) As we discover the truth of what is already ours in Christ, we begin to experience the reality of His life in us. “It is no longer I but Christ that lives in us” (Galatians 2:20)

Pursuing Christ, knowing Him and what He has provided on the cross, opens our eyes and hearts to this free gift. The free gift of His righteousness not only cleanses us from all unrighteousness but provides a life that is powerful, intentional and productive!

Everything comes by revelation! What is revelation? It is “revealed” truth. It is truth that the Holy Spirit reveals to us regarding what God’s will is for our lives.

1. It is truth internalized.
2. It is truth that changes your perspective in every area of your life.
3. It is truth that changes your expectations.

Revelation paints a picture of God’s reality in your heart to the degree that you become compelled to explore it’s hidden riches. It is when we see Him, it is when we know Him that He reveals His purposes for our lives. It is at that moment that we begin to experience a Grace Empowered Life!
